What us kids have been up to lately

In a sea of Utah fans, Jeff, Chad and I swept in under the radar. Same colors, different letters! Jeff graduated from San Diego State University, I never attended, but you gotta root for your home teams, right? We recruited Chad to be a State fan too! He got into the school spirit just fine.
From our seats you can just barely see the tip of my hospital behind the crane. We actually ended getting beat, but it was fun sitting in the rain anyhow.

Utah definately has school spirit. Cool truck! Now if only I had brought a banner with SDS that I could put up so the U finishes it, sneaky sneaky!

Don't they look cute?

So it's a week late. My bad! Our "2007 Family Camping Adventure: Capitol Reef, Utah." Temporary Home Sweet Home! My parents took the tent on the left, my brother and I shared the one on the right. The last time we shared a tent I was in 4th grade, if memory serves me right. We took care not to get pine needles, sand and gravel in the tent. Every morning we "made our beds" and put all our Cabbage Patch dolls in their proper places, along with any other stuffies that made it onto the adventure. Going to bed, though, after a day at the beach with not nearly enough sunscreen on, laying on the plastic, blow up beds, well, it felt good to lay down. But the trick was to not turn over, or move at all. If I did, it meant the feeling of my skin being ripped from my body as burn stuck to plastic. Shudder. Of course, that didn't stop me from going out again the next day!
Normally, I am really not a fan of rain. Or cold for that matter. Jeff build a much appreciated fire, and well equipped with rain gear with hoodies, breakfast in the cold rain didn't seem like such a bad idea! There was a few telling frozen rain drops on top of the tent. Boy did that tea feel and taste great!

Rock formations took on their own personas. So strong. Patient. Bold and hiding a smirk, don't you think?

Jeff has a bit of a fear of heights; this was as close as he'd get. The delicate rain excited the colors of the valley.

I, on the other hand, leaned as far over the edge as gravity would allow! What an intoxicating drop! Oh, to be able to fly!

Such a cute pair of love birds! The pancakes turned out fabulously! Quite welcomed in a grumbly tummy! And, of course, Mom in her hat. The look caught on all weekend for all 4 of us!

My Mom and Dad really are cute together. Nearly 31 years. Cute, cute, cute!

We like Jeff better!

Yeah, it was cold, and yeah, it was morning, but how come the boys always looks sooo much better?

Guess I should be getting ready for winter

This snowman was stayin' alive at the hospital! It snowed on the last day of September, much to my dismay. In response, the nurses built a snowman, this is him the next morning, after we had removed the stethascope, and someone, or something had eaten his actual carrot nose.
In response to the wicked weather, I promptly went out and bought a pair of Uggs, and 4 sweaters and a beanie. I hope that holds off the rest of the winter!
It's good to be me, cause it got sunny and warm and the best part is that my parents are coming to visit on Thursday!

Getting ready for fall

It's actually been a week now since I went hiking with my brother. As you can see, fall is officially here! It was nice and warm Saturday, so warm I peeled off my jacket. By the end of the day though, it snowed!

For Sunday football, I made a decent lasagna, garlic bread and salad for the boys. Spinich/ Artichoke dip for an appetizer and brownies for dessert. I actually got a few takers for seconds, so it couldn't have been all that bad. Made for a great lunch the next 2 days too!

The leaves have turned golden. Midas is running around everywhere!

With Mom and Dad coming out to visit us kids next week, we decided to get Meowsie cleaned up and ready. "This hurts me more than it hurts you." Yeah right! Made for a really amusing day!

Hi Everybody!

I got a new hair cut! Like mother like daughter, I guess. The top is the after picture, the bottom one is before. She straightened my hair out, thinned it (since I guess it is too thick) and took a whole lot of length off.

Meowzee was not a happy camper with this morning's attention on the only important part of the paper, the comics. Laughter is the best medicine. So he put himself in the middle of it all.

Now we know who really is the king around here!

At work, we have students. Lots of students. The girl on the left, above is the student who accomplished her first IV start. Funny how if you leave the tounaquet on it tends to bleed more. Hence the puddle of blood! The guy on the right is one of my alltime new favorite doctors. He gets extra double bonus points for subjecting his juicy veins to the attempts of a nursing student. She got it though. Jamie, the doctor, refused to wash the blood off his hand before he had a little fun with it, claiming he was attacked by a patient, or that he TOTALLY missed doing an arterial blood stick, whatever new funny story he could think up whenever he saw a new doctor or nurse in sight. We have entirely too much fun at work sometimes. I hope his wife does not see this. She is a doctor as well, and as Jamie tells it, would be very jealous that someone else got to stick him, since he won't let her! Mind you, she doesn't want to just practice with IVs, she wants to put in central lines. (Think neck veins....) I don't blame him!

We had another birthday at work. 2 actually. 1 was the patients, and one was our staff's. So another round of birthday fun. The banner was made by the nursing student in the previous picture. The crown was my own. It just so happened that I had birthday confetti in the car (things like this happen...) so we embelished!
