Cute stuff
Oh, if I could have, this cute little bugger would have been coming home with me! But with a $500 price tag, he got to stay in the pet store.
So I went out in the backyard and took some shots at the hummingbirds. It only took about 30 shots to get 2 good ones. They look better if you click on the picture to see how cute our little hummers are.
They almost blend in with the leaves.
It's good to be me and get out into nature a bit.

Heritage Rose Garden
Memorial Day weekend, my parents and I headed out to a heritage rose garden to check it out.
Despite the opressive heat, the sky was a joy, and the garden lendt itself to being photographed.
Pink spray roses from the 1800's were delightful.
The place is going to be turned into a wedding site.
Seems fitting to adorn weddings with plenty of floral atmosphere.
There's our something blue.
Can't you just imagine a Texas bride and her cowboy beau getting hitched in the chapel?
I saved the best for last....
A rose named Mermaid in all it's glory! A winner in my book!
Hope you'v enjoyed the tour. It's good to be able to show it to you, minus the heat and occasional bug!

Memorial Day, a few days back

Just wanted to share a few of my photos from the Veterans Memorial Cemetary in Houston Texas, where I spent part of the day with the folks.
I did not know this little girl, but I felt it was a striking photo, such a young innocent thing surrounded by those who had died who had experienced war times. Hmm.

Weed Wednesday
Our daily adventure. Mom and I beautified the garden. She picked the plants and flowers, and we weeded, turned the soil, and finally planted the freshness.
Popping Pink attracts butterflies.
Golden Marigolds. Redundant, I know, but striking.
Different view...
Don't they just look exciting and refeshing?
And our non-flowering colors...
Mom put the finishing touches on the placeing of the rocks for our border.
The cats were absolutely no help. They stayed inside. They didn't even snoopervise!
Life savers: a pitcher of ice water, and OFF!!! Keep the mosquitos away!
Aaaahhhh.... it's good to be me and have a glass of ice cold water in my hand.

It's a good day to be Happy!
It is a beautiful day here, and I would like to share some beauty with my readers. Looking at such flowers just make me happy. 
And the joke is that this hybiscus was photographed in Texas, and it still looks happy! Go figure! It is good to be me, and it is good to share beauty.
