"I'm out here not botherin' NObody...

...and this kid keeps coming out and snoopervising!"
Yeah, Grams and Gramps got out there and got the pool filters cleaned.
Eewwww!!! Look at how dirty those filters get!!! It's a dirty job, but somebody's gotta do it!

Look! All clean!!!

It's good to be me, and it's good to see some elderly, retired folk getting out there, getting their hands dirty and having some nice, quality time together. ***Smirk****

Getting older

OK, so this is a bit of an old picture. But I can't believe my baby is getting so old!!! So many miles! As I mentioned, it's an old picture, my car is actually going to turn 90,000 probably by the end of next week. Wah!!! I love my car! Why oh why do the miles just keep coming?
It's good to be me, and I love my car, despite the miles under it's belt!

No, it's not snot! Keeping with my fast, this is a fried banana! And those are my fried green tomatoes!
Impromptu, but it's good to be me!!!

Guest Blogger Rufus

Rufus has asked that he be able to respond to Tiggie's post on posing. So, since Grandma and Grandpa don't have a blog, I let him post on mine.
"See Tigs, I too, have made my humans match me. The whole house matches me! The vinyl floor, the wood furniture, everything!
I take really good naps too. See how the brilliant purples set off my stunningly cream fur?
I've got everyone here trained to play with me. I've got my own high look out point, just like you Tigs, but mine has a view into my very own garden. Again, see how the whole house has been designed to match ME?
I can pose too! Look how long and slender I look when I stretch out. Sister could barely get all of me in just one picture. I am just too magnificent!
I snoopervise too! I check out the whole garden at least 3-4 times a day. There were a few threats to the security of the garden. 3 lizards since I've been here. I think they were Lebonese or something. Not to worry though, I killed the threat! Top that Tigs! I don't even have my front claws to work with!
And boy am I adorable!!! Carl, my human, tells me all the time how cute I am!
Cute, but ruthless! See how I can stalk? Everything in my yard is my prey!
Except this guy. He and I have chats. I love the French! Siamese speak all the romance languages, Furrench, Purrsian, Siamese, and of course, Cattish.

Top that, Tigs! I rule around here! Look, even the cement matches me! I think I'd like you, though, Tigs, cause you're a boy, and I like boys. Just boys. I think you should bite that Blondie's ankles. Maybe she will get the hint and get outta there so you, B and Hart can rule the place. That's my plan out here. Maybe one of these days, that lady that lives with us will leave and just leave me and my Carl all to ourselves! Now, that would be heaven!!! Just us boys!!!

Course, she does give me Greenies. Eh, I guess I will let her stay a while longer."

I know it's snowing there, but....

It sure is beautiful here! Cosmos soaking up the sun
Fushias dancing in the breeze and guavas gloating
And look, Momma! Persimmons!

Art festival in the mist

Still more Girl's Getaway Weekend Well, "It's Art!" I guess this artist was a "butt" man. Can't you just see these pieces hanging in a proctologist's office?

The art show went on for blocks, partially shrouded in the early morning mist.
What art show is complete without an Art Car?
Despite the grey, the mood was light and colorful.
This piece certainly attained it's goal! The artist created it with the intent of bringing laughter to the viewers.
The spider's webs were ornamented in surreal dew pearl necklaces. There you go, Mom.
Another laughter display.
Dad, this one is for you! Oh, if I had a few thousand dollars, it would have come home with me for your birthday. I couldn't keep my eyes off this piece. He so perfectly captured the late afternoon before the sunset glass and warmth of a beautiful day out. Mmmm.

It's good to be me, and I hope you have enjoyed your virtual Girl's Getaway Weekend!

This may be the longest weekend ever...

Girls Getaway Weekend continues! The walk along the Santa Barbara Pier.
Many seafood places
You can pick out your own crab!
We watched outriggers practicing...
Hi Mr. Seagull!
This guy was a celebrity!

Does anyone else find this to be a little bit ironic? Or at least a waste of effort?Map for our bearings...
That's right! I'm posting on Thursday, Pirate Day! Arrrr!!!! Thurrrrrrsday...

The view back at the palm tree lined beach. You can't tell from this picture since it was too foggy, but there are stupendous mountains in the background on a clear day.
These dolphins are probably the signature mark of Santa Barbara.
And with that I sign off for the post. Next post will be of our impromptu art tour.
