Trying someplace new

Crystal and I checked out a New Orleans style place I had had my eye on for quite some time. I had driven by a few times, and either it was too busy, or I was too busy.
But last week we finally decided to go in and see how it was. They specialized in Watermelon wine, which was interesting. I am still not sure how I liked it.
I ordered the "MudBug Salad" which did the trick, but really, the fried pickles were the best part of the meal.
As you can see by the menu, there were a lot of great options.
The decor was idealic, and we both agreed we would have to frequent the place again.
By the time we were wrapping up our dinner, the blues/jazz band has started up, and they were soulful!
We could have spent all evening there. We had other things to do though. Crystal had not been up to Mt. Soledad in forever, so up we went.
She had forgotten how great the view was from up there. So had I!
I showed off a little, pointing out each of my grandfather's plaques with honor. (side note, I couldn't find grandpa Steins though... was it moved?)
Anyhow, the day was great, and as always, it was a last to get to hang out with my friend!

2 most favorite Grandmas!

I got to share an afternoon with my 2 all-time FAVORITE Grandmothers! We got to see a movie together (How to train your dragon...in 3D nonetheless) and then got to nosh at Mimmi's (sp intentional)
It was simply delightful and yet another reminder how blessed I am.

It's so good to be me, with both Grandma's alive, healthy, and kicking, in town! Thank you both! I love you very much

Relatives

This is my Grandmother's sister's granddaughter, Kimberly. Although I suspect she is going by Kim now. :) It's been quite some time since I had seen her, but she is just as I remembered, but more fun!
It was so good to see her again! Entertaining grandparents never hurts either. It's so good to be me!

It was a lovely day! Crystal stayed over last night, so we got the morning started off bright and early. 11:00am.
Brunch at the beach? Certainly!
The sun was out, and we had omelets at the "Green Flash," right on the beach in Pacific Beach, or PB as we call it.
Next up, some shopping and mermaid citings, as well as a stop in for coffee and iced tea.
Later, Crystal headed back home and I headed to the beach to hang out with Heather and David and soak up some sun.
It was simply a perfect Saturday. It's so good to be me!

Mom's borrowing grandbabies again.

My mom came into town a few weekends ago, and wanted to hold one of the many babies there are laying around in my life. Knowing new daddy, Trace, is in the Navy, she was inspired to get baby Kirsiella a sailor dress. Mandatory, from what I understand.
Both the baby's daddy and my mommy were happy, and the baby behaved beautifully.
And so I pacified my mother, once again, with allowing her to play grandma without having to actually produce any offspring of my own. Sheer genius!

DisneyLaand!!!!

I went to DisneyLaand again! Yay being 8 again! We got in the classics, Dumbo, Toads wild ride, etc.
Yet another "favorite" Thunder Mountain. I must be older, cause I think I need a chiropractor after riding that one!
Splash mountain was a "favorite." He loved getting soaked!

We went down, down, down into the submarine for the Finding Nemmo ride. We kept look out in the watery scenery.

I was expecting to see a mermaid. We saw other stuff. Still cool, but not a mermaid.

I think this kid liked the submarine ride.

I think we rode every single big rided there was. (Do all 8 year old boys "smile" like this?)

Matterhorn, yup. We saw the Yetti. Scared the bajeebers out of me! Twice. Happiest place on earth? (Nope, the beach is!)
I think it is safe to say that the kid and I had a good time. And we ended the night with ice cream. Yum!

Day at California Adventures 3/28/10

Wakka, wakka, wakka!!! We started the day with the muppets 3-D experience/ The muppets! How fun!!!!
Hey! Look! It's Beaker!!! Meee mee meee meep!

I figured a kiss would make him a little happier.
Getting ready to go into the theatre...
1
Hollywood Tower? SCARYYYYYY

We didn't buy the picture, but we took a picture of it! Yup, that's us in the bottom right corner, screaming our heads off!
Gotta have cotton candy, right?

We went in to see the 3-D Bugs Life movie. WAY FUN!!! Probably the best part of the day. I won't reveal why...cause I'm sneaky!

Crystal was afraid to go on the big roller coasters; the kind that go upside down and sideways. So I borrowed her boyfriend and she shot the best picture!!!

We gave Crystal's boyfriend icecream. He likes to pretend to be grumpy.

Ariel was glad to see me again...

We got to see a parade. Check out those live acrobats swinging on the dinosaurs dumbbells~
You can barely see it, but the matterhorn is in the backgroud of this next picture.

Proper head gear is a must when visiting a theme park.

We decided to get in line for the Grizzly Rapids Run. It was hot. It was way fun!!!

Crystal and her trying-to-be-grumpy boyfriend.
The after picture:

Yup. We got pretty wet.
Crystal and I went through the kids adventure camp and ran around on the rope swing paths
I fell down. Went boom. Have ouchie now.
