Ballgame

I finally made it to a baseball game. FINALLY!!!! Did we win? Common. It's the Padres. Of course not. Did I have fun? Yes! One of my friends from childhood, who moved to South Dakota, was in town, so we got to go catch a game, get caught up on life in South Dakota, how his wife and baby are doing, what school is like, and all that good stuff.
I got a Padres hat, he got a Padres shirt, but we lost anyhow. Ah, well. Good times were had! Thanks, Eric! (nice smile.)

Girl's Movie Night Sept. 30th, 2010

I spruced up the house for Girls Movie Night, which was hosted by me this month. I had the flowers on the table, but Cessa thought they were delicious, and so they were moved. I decided on tacos, choice of chicken or beef, with homemade guacamole and salsa.
I set the table with Grandma's Mexican dishes, which everyone ranted and raved over. Thank you Grandma D!!!!
Then the house was suddenly infested with babies! Emma, who is now 2 months old...
...and Kirsiella, who is 7 months old now, and a super ham in front of the camera!
With all the girls holding their baby girl, I felt a little left out, until I realized I had my own baby girl...kitty!!!! Photo opp!!!!

Girl's Movie night was a smashing success! We watched the 1980's "Top Secret" and laughed at how young Val Kilm*r looked. It's good to be one of the girls!

Sept, ONS dinner

Every month I go to our local chapter Oncology Nursing Society dinner, so I thought that this time I would share. I had the mignon. DELICIOUS!!!

I know I look really white, or rather red, compared to some of the other members, but we sure had a good time!

Surrounded by babies!!

I gave David and Heather a break from parenting to go have an evening to have dinner together. In return, I got to have 2 hours of fun with this little girl: Emma! She keeps growing!!! What's a girl to do but get out the camera and take a few hundred pictures of the adorableness?
I'm not a fan of animal print, so that was off at the first diaper change. She got some sleep in too:
I cannot be trusted with a camera, I'm telling you. Next came the Nursing Cap I specifically brought to do a quick photo shoot with the baby. I insist that every baby of a nurse have baby pictures in a nursing hat, baby willing.

She wasn't so sure about the cap, but I did get some good shots; I'm just not going to share the best ones just in case Heather is reading this post, which I doubt. The good ones will be an anniversary present to them. Their 3rd (?) anniversary is in October, so I have some time to edit. She sure is cute when she is sleeping though!

Take a hike

Crystal came down for the day a few weekends ago, and we like to get out and do stuff. This time, we decided to climb a mountain.
Perseverance!!!
Wished we could flutter to the top!
Long ways up!
Yes we DID make it to the top!

It's so good to be me when friends are in town!

LJ Rough Water Swim 9.12.10

I finished it! I did NOT come in last place! And, most importantly, I had fun. See those yellow and red balloons? 2 sets of them? Yeah, well, that's the KIDS course. If you expand the picture, you can see waaaaaaaaaay out in the distance the balloons I was swimming to and around.
A mile long swim, and I came back to this finish line.
And I was presented with this:
Because somehow I got to be right in front of the 4 time 1st place finisher at the beginning of the race. When the starter gun went off, all plans to leisurely get a comfortable start went out the window and I SPRINTED as hard as I could to keep from getting swam over.
I was ahead of the 4 time 1st place finisher for a good 20 seconds, and I am proud of that! :)
I finished the race in 43 minutes and 2 seconds. I was 23rd in my age group, and 273rd out of all the women. I'm not sure how many women swam, but it doesn't matter. I FINISHED IT!!!! I was NOT LAST PLACE! And I had FUN!!! It's good to be me!
