I just wanted to wish everyone a wonderful new month! Last month seemed to be a rather yucky month, so here's to a brand new month filled with blessings, praises, and all around good!
It's good to be me! And it is good to be you!

Vote time!
So, should I go to Nebraska, or Kansas this weekend? Cast your vote!
Really, I just need to cross another state line so I can take a picture of me in either of those states. Not to try to offend anyone, but I can't imagine any reason to spend any time in either, but they do need crossing off my list.

Good times!
I'm back from my trip, and back at work. I had a perfectly delightful "vacation." I am still feeling the effects of Saturday, the day Jeff (my brother) and I took the mountain. 6,022 feet conquered! The first about 3/4 was a scenic joy. The last 1/4 were, as the locals called it, technical.
When I say technical, I mean that I had to stop about every 10 feet, whether it was vertical or horizontal because there were parts that were pure vertical, and try to catch my breath. I have not breathed so hard in years! Parts of this trail were just boulders, parts were tree roots, parts were only about 6 inches wide. Incredible. 4 1/2 miles.
When we got to the top, the view was stunning. 360 degrees of Gods beauty. That was, after I was able to sit up again. My first few minutes were strictly staring at the sky, grateful for the ability to lay down, and praising God for every full breathe of wonderful oxygen. Funny how such a little thing like oxygen makes or breaks you.
For the first time in my life, my brother and I were a team. We set a common goal, encouraged each other, pushed each other, and congratulated each other when we made it to the top alive and unbroken.
My grandparents always told us we would be closer as we got older, and we are. I honestly didn't think it would happen, but I am glad we did.
This weekend brought us to a place of peace, of agreement, of respect and camaraderie. We learned so much about one another.
It is good to be, because I discovered that I have a really great brother. That, and my parents are coming back home from a wonderful trip to Europe in the morning. Or tomorrow sometime. Probably when I am asleep. Of course, I would love to hear all about the trip, but they get back in the middle of a 3 day work week. Oh well. They will probably need the time to recover. Jetlag and all. So, Mom, don't worry about getting caught up with me. I'll talk to you this weekend.
And I did get some postcards. Thank you! I love you! Welcome home!
