Starting off a new year

The beginning of the year, in my humble opinion, should start off with a bang; something out of doors, adventurous and active. I started it off with a hike just outside of Julian.

It was bloody cold, and apparently it snowed about 2 hours after I left.
I was glad to have gotten out of the house and enjoy the weather before it got bad.
I can only imagine how these trees would look covered in snow...
....and was very glad to not find out!
From the top of the rocks, I could see the river bed. Being as how I am certainly not afraid of heights, I took my time sitting at the edge of the rock, looking down.

It reminded me of dangling my feet over the cliffs in Ireland. Sigh. I miss that trip. It was wonderful.
A very delayed Happy New Year! I hope your 2011 is full of adventure, good times, great views, and even better friends and family!

Grandma's reaction

OK, so maybe it wasn't this exact picture, but similar. With "Philip Rivers BUTT!!!! Merry Christmas!!!" written on it. Framed. Uh huh. Yup. I know you are jealous. I was.

Yup, I gave them both the same thing. Who wouldn't love it???

Grandma's Tight Buns Reaction

Had to share with you all, since you couldn't be there, this is the next best thing! A woman after my own heart!

Front Page!!! Again!!!

I don't know how many times my mother told me not to go out of the house without makeup, ok, well, my mother never told me that, but somebody did, because sure enough, after running a 5K back in May, with sweat pouring down, and no makeup on, and only my glasses on, with my hair not brushed back in a pony tail, yes, at 5 AM, that is the EXACT time people want to take my picture and put it on the front of a nationally published magazine. Again. This time my name didn't make it, but my cheezy smile did. On the right. Ugh. This time it was on the ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) Foundation Newsletter. Volume 17. Number 2. Fall 2010. Just in case you wanted to look it up. It's good to be me. Better when I'm not all sweaty, but hey. What's a girl to do?
(OK, so really, I like it. But next time, crazy world, wait to take my picture in something a little more flattering, eh?)

Christmas Breakfast

Grandma had set the table... ....and Grandpa was manning the stove...

....for some yummy Christmas pancakes.

They didn't last too long. They were just the perfect way to start out Christmas morning! (Thank you again, Grandpa D!)
