Let's keep this birthday going!!!

WOoOOOO----HOOOOOoOooOooO!!!!

Look what showed up in the mail! Swedish power!!! (no, not the wrist bands...I just added them for the sentiment.)

Ibrahamovic` (pardon the poor Swedish Spelling...c with a delayed ` backwards...) is the best of the best in Sweden and an amazing player!!! Of soccer, for those not familiar with Swedish soccer leagues... :-)

Also, for those of you who may not know this about me, I love jerseys! Especially soccer (football) and rugby jerseys from other countries!

Thank you soooo much Janitha, Jannica and Pia!!! I love it and it was soooo worth the wait! It kept the celebration going! I can't wait to watch a game and wear it to go out in. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! It's good to be me with such wonderful, thoughtful, caring friends like you. I appreciate you sooo much. Thank you again.

UCSD angels

Last Saturday night, or was it 2 ago, Crystal invited me to the UCSD dinner dance.
The Charger Girls were there!!! They are so short. Tiny. Miniscule. So I stood up as tall as possible and resisted the temptation to put my elbows on their heads.
There was a sports theme, hence the jerseys. Most people had football jerseys on. There were a few baseball fans, a few soccer fans, and one man in his fencing uniform. I would post it, but apparently the man decided to not have panty lines, and his uniform was from his college days, and he was in his 60s now, and lets just say the picture was not decent to be put on the internet. At least not on my post!
We quickly found some of our friends. This is one of the wonderful secretarys that I worked with on my old floor. Mostly we were good, although we did manage to steal, I mean borrow, the half drank bottles of wine from the other tables around us. So as not to waste the wine, of course!!!
All that fun, Crystal had to straighten her halo.
Mine stayed in place. Cute eh?

Grandparent's 62nd Anniversary

Ok, so it's a week late, but my mother's parent's celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary last week, and I had the honor of celebrating with them. We got to see the play, "Thoroughly Modern Millie" which was a hoot! I adored the costumes and dancing. Brought me back to my 20's party. Ah, those were the good old days!!!

After the play we had dinner at Anthonys, a seafood place and I enjoyed the ahi, poke and sashimi as an appetizer. Grams got the crabcake.
It was a splendid time!
I am so lucky to be able to share such a special day with them. Thank you again, Grandma and Grandpa!

Saturday night

Last wednesday was the last belly dance class for Heather, Margo and I. To celebrate, we went to Marakesh for some morrocan food, and to see the belly dancing performances they have there on friday and saturday nights. We got all dolled up for the occasion.
The food was quite decent. This dish was quite fun to look at. It was a meat pie, sprinkled with cinamon and powdered sugar. Unfortunately, cinamon does horrible things for my throat and mouth, causing it to close up just a little bit, and I coughed and choked as I realized that is what was dusted under the powdered sugar. The inside of the pie, though, was much, much nicer.
We each ordered a lamb dish, which I am kicking myself for not taking a picture of, and each of the 2 dishes was different. I prefered the honeyed lamb with grapes and prunes. Heather prefered the lamb dish on a bed of couscous with vegetables. We also shared a bottle of wine. I had not ordered a bottle of wine with dinner since 2006, the early part of it.
And we enjoyed the entertainment. Of course, we kept pointing out which of the moves she did that we knew we could do, or commenting on how this and that move was cool and how did she do that?!?
Heather is so cute and short, I have got to start standing up straight when I stand next to her. The earrings are Margo's. I asked if I could borrow them since she could not come out with us. Her father was passing away, and passed peacefully this morning at around 5:30. Wearing the earrings was symbolically like she came out with us. Margo asked that we have an extra fun time for her.
It's good to be me and while I had a great time out, I am also greatful to have my father alive and kicking. Or splashing as it may be, in the Great Salt Lake.
