Anybody here seen my old friend?

No, it actually wasn't a hotel I stayed at. But it holds some interest and significance.
I realized that I was just a few days early for the rememberance, but that's okay, I'm not a huge fan of crowds. Not sure that there would be crowds, but it was significant just the same.

It seems unfitting that such an important man might spend his last seconds at a cheap hotel. Maybe it wasn't cheap at the time, but it seemed that way to me.

I understand there is a perpetual wreathe of living flowers standing at that spot. This is the one that happened to be there when I was there on that rainy day. Appropriate, I believe.
Admittedly, I thought the cars were quite impressive and probably the "coolest" part of the memorial. It really puts you in the era mindset and added a much more human element to the cold concrete and steel of the site.

So today I pay my tribute to a great man.

And this last picture has nothing to do with Martin Luther King Jr., but rather is in the rest of the song, Walking in Memphis. The line is "Muriel plays the piano every Friday at Hollywoods." Well, there it is!!! Now if only I had realized that on Friday rather than Saturday. Maybe she is still there. I don't actually know.
But it is good to be me, and be alive.

Unbridled Spirit

I did it! I made it to my 50th State of the Union!!!!
That's right! 50! I have accomplished one of my life goals of visiting all 50 states before I am 50.

The turkey picture is for Grandpa D. Thinking of you! Sorry Hal, no hats and cats...
The daffodils were in bloom as were the forcynthia. Beautiful yellow hues.

And the route I took. It's good to be me! Especially now that I've been to Kentucky! Unbridled Spirit. I'll say!
