I was determined to find some California Snow; you know, the kind that forms on the ground, instead of frighteningly falling from the sky? (You northerners, and you know who you are, think it is a natural, normal process, to have frozen water falling from the sky!)
Well, I found some good-old-fashioned on-the-ground kind of snow. I have heard it referred to as ice, but I like to think it grows. ;) I went up to Julian, thinking it would have grown snow, but it hadn't. Yet. I was lucky to have spotted this little bit growing on the street!
It wouldn't be California without a little bit of color, and these berries nicely did the trick.

I wouldn't have been a proper "vacation" without getting to meet a new kitty cat.
I simply loved wandering through the California-version of old area. So, maybe 50 years old? Ancient! Ha!
The selection of jams and jellies had my mouth watering, and my camera clicking away.
Between the candy and the honeys, it is a wonder I didn't develop a cavity right then and there!
I did get a few honey stick, a weakness for me. Did I mention it was cold???
Yes, I got my "winter holiday fix" in when I saw these icicles. BRRRRR!!!
I tried to post this picture multiple times, and it finally let me. It is of the path I took on my hike the same day. I was worried about mud, but only because I was wearing my cute new running shoes, as previously pictured in the last post.
And just in case you were wondering, yes, I know snow falls from the sky, and that is a natural part of the orderly cycle of life. It's just so much better and good to be me when it stays put on the ground. Far away. :)
