Lady Sarah of the Clan Stuart

The Enchanted Shire entrance, with the lovely "Lady Sarah of the Clan Stuart" about to grace the festivities with her presence.

We were in presence of royalty, the Queen of England herself, with her handsome court.

Margo, I mean, "Lady Mallory of the Chateau" of Swan Lake (as I teased her)was true nobility as well, stunning in her glory and beauty.

Ay, and the foods! Turkey legs hit the spot!

Two lovely ladies, and we were greeted by handsome gents in perfect attire. When did that look go out of style? Such a pity!

I found a wall with centuries old skeletons, skulls and crossbones, so, of course, had to take a picture with such a pleasant backdrop.

And, aye, there was jousting. The 4 time world jousting champion was there, and he particularly fancied our Lady Mallory of the Chateau. I, myself, was chosen among all the fair maidens, was given a long stemmed red rose, and brought to the front so "My Knight" could present the lady (me) who he would fight in honor of! His devotion was paired with a kiss, and fight he did! I blushed. I'm pretty sure my face was the color of my bodice! He got knocked off his horse by the 4 time world champion jouster. Well, at least my honor was jousted for! I simply must add "Had my honor jousted over by a knight in shining honor after a kiss and a rose was bestowed" to my life resume. Flattering!

Our Lady Mallory was jailed by the town Constable. Her crime? Being too beautiful! Her retort? "Unhand me vile sir! This is beneith my station!" Brilliant! I finally bailed her out. Nobility should not be burdoned with the company of commoners, crime committing ones to boot!

We did make friends, the Queen herself, was thoroughly impressed, and even felt we should join them in the courts in the future. Such flattery.

It's good to be me in any time period. Huzzah!

Oh, what fun to dress up in long skirts and beautiful garments like these. I once worked with a woman who was into this and she had authentic costumes, like the Queen in this photo, the sleeves were put on separately just as they did in days of old. Very elaborate and complicated just getting dressed! You look great in red plaid.
