So I have no idea who these people were, but I actually got to do something other than write a thesis! 
One of my friends suggested that we go to this 94.9 (radio station) anniversary party. I thought it was a good idea too!
So off we went, and, despite not knowing any of the songs, I had a great time. Sitting next to me was a lady who told me that the lead singer was her nephew. I felt sorry for her though, because he acted like he was on crack or something, but they were awesome, and I enjoyed the show. Good times!
