More before and afters

I don"t recall if I had mentioned it before, but my home came with a lifesize palmtree. Artistic, yes. But it had to go!!!
The 1st palm tree before and after.

No more palm tree!

Blue walls before...
...and after in the shade of Tangerine Dream.
Then I got electrically inclined while waiting for the paint to dry. It sure takes a lot of coats to get rid of smurf blue!!! This was the entry way lighting. Dull. Before...
And after! I had purchased a light on clearance for a whopping $13! Can't beat that, eh? So much happier!
This is the not so pretty "before" picture of the light in the living room. Yawn and yuck! Before...
And after! Also on clearance! Only $25 marked down from $80.
This was the very last box to be unpacked. Wonder what's inside....
Chargers jersey!!!! Woo hooo!!!!
So here's the nearly finished product. I've got freshly painted base boards.
It's a Tangerine Dream to finally have my own home! Thanks for coming to visit! More pictures to come as I finish other rooms.

Before and After, in the works

So the master bedroom used to be a beautiful shade of *ahem* green tea ice-cream....
I had to get something on the wall to show the contrast. Well, that, and to make my mark on the room! The bedroom, in shade of Afterglow. Crystal and I were kidding around about the theme of the room, and, taking a suggestion from the Cosi's cup I was drinking from, decided upon "Polite sophistication." Sure!

Family Heriloom

Hey Mom, I just wanted to show you something. See! I didn't loose it! Good for me!
I recieved this ring as a gift from my mother upon my graduation from 6th grade. If I am not mistaken, it was her "something blue" when she got married, and was her gift from her mother when she graduated from 6th grade as well. Now, whether my grandmother recieved it as a gift as well, I do not know. Grandma, Mom, Wanna elaborate? I thoroughly enjoy this ring, and I am glad to have it in my very own home now.

San Francisco

Just wanted to share with you 2 of my favorite pictures from San Francisco 2 weekends ago. The top picture is at one of, in my humble opinions, the most romantic places on Earth. It is simply inspiring and an absolute stop for any San Fran trip.

And then, of course, Lombard Street. Crookedest street on Earth.
It's good to be me and get up there from time to time...

Updates

I got it, I got it, I got it!!!! Yes, I'm still excited about being a proud new homeowner.
I really, really need to get some of the pictures up to update everyone, but this is what I've done, sans pictures.
I got both bedrooms and bathrooms painted. BIG accomplishment! The master bedroom is now "Afterglow," and the master bath is one shade darker. The guest bedroom is now "Cream in my Coffee," and the guest bath is actually a historical preservation color called "Homestead Resort Spa Aqua." The accent color in the bath is also a National trust for Historic Preservation color called "Woodlawn Valley Haze." I must say, I have thoroughly enjoyed the color selection process. I picked "Heirloom Lace" for the crown molding and baseboard, but it turns out that just makes the room look really dingy. So instead I went back and repainted them "Ultra White." Much, much better!
I finally got my POD unpacked, and the entire contents are spread between the living room and the guest bedroom. My friend Margo and her son came over and declared that my living room is "The palace of Junk." Admittedly, yes, that's about how it looks at the moment.
The past few days I have been taking my time unpacking and thoroughly enjoying looking at old pictures of me parasailing, jumping off a cliff into the ocean, graduating from high school and the like.
So that's about where I'm at. I have the living room with at least the couch and loveseat where I think they will stay, but I really need to get around to putting the feet back on the couch and loveseat. These old knees will thank me when I do!
It's good to be me and have my very own stuff back!!!!

Updates

Well, I had planned on having some pictures to go with this post, but it just does not seem to be working out that way.
So many things have happened in the past 2 weeks. Let's review...
1. Uncle got diagnosed *for sure* with Transitional Cell Carcinoma.
2. Brother got married
3. BECAME A HOME OWNER!!!!!!!!
Let's stop there. Yes! I finally got it!!! I moved the things I have been living with the past 3 months into the new place, and I will have my POD delivered the following weekend.
So now I am the proud owner of a 2 bedroom, 2 full bath 2nd story condominium with an ocean view (said with a smirk)!
Let the painting begin!!!

freesias are not Cosmos

Does anyone else see what is wrong with this picture? Maybe that is why it was so cheap! They aren't floral experts...
